Karen started City Wide of Boston with Bob Sommers in 2008. Through the State of Massachusetts’ Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), City Wide of Boston is a certified Woman Owned Business (WBE). Prior to City Wide, Karen spent 12 years in Sales and Sales Management in Boston and New York Radio, working for both American Radio Systems and CBS/Infinity Broadcasting. And then after starting a family, she worked as a consultant to her former Boston radio stations, as well as, clients in sales & sales leadership. In 2002 along with Bob, she co-founded the grass roots, 100% volunteer based charity Smiling Kids Inc. (www.smilingkidsinc.org). The 501(c)3 charity provides birthday presents to children and teens in-need throughout Massachusetts. The organization has provided over 15,000 birthday presents to date. The success and enjoyment of launching and growing the charity ignited the interest to start a business.

Bob started City Wide of Boston with Karen Sommers in 2008. Prior to City Wide, Bob worked in business development and general management roles for various start- ups and technology companies in the Boston area. In 2002, Bob and Karen co-founded the grass roots, 100% volunteer based charity, Smiling Kids Inc.. (www.smilingkidsinc.org). The success and enjoyment of launching and growing the charity ignited the interest to start a business they could develop and build together. City Wide of Boston was started with a desire to address the pervasive problem commercial properties face in finding, sourcing and managing reliable vendors. Bob graduated from Hamilton College with a BA in Psychology and earned his MBA in Marketing from the Babson College Olin School of Management.

Sheila came to City Wide from Kidsborough, the multi-location before/after school educational care program, where she was the Center Director of the original site in Hopkinton, MA. Sheila initially joined the team in a hybrid accounting and support role in 2009 when the company had just Bob and Karen Sommers and a handful of clients. She is now the Director of the Business Operations department that includes all Accounting, Human Resources, Client Support, and Vendor Sourcing and Compliance teams. Sheila is a graduate of Clark University with a degree in Liberal Arts, Psychology and Spanish.

Craig came to CWB from more than 20 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry. He held Director positions with Back Bay Restaurant Group, Chelo’s Management Company and British Beer Company. Craig oversees all operations management and contract compliance. He leads the growing team through excellence in customer service, hospitality and creative problem solving. Craig is a graduate of from Southern New Hampshire University with a degree in Business.

Cara joined CWB with over 5 years of experience in the retail industry. Prior to City Wide she worked at Toys R Us and went through their management training program. From her retail background she brings a high level of customer service and management skills. Cara graduated from Johnson and Wales with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management.

Steven joined CWB with over 20 years of management and leadership experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to City Wide he was a Managing Partner at UNO Restaurants LLC. Steven uses his prior skills and knowledge help develop the right operational strategy for our clients and works with the City Wide team to deliver results. Steven graduated from Johnson and Wales with a degree in Business Management.

Jim joined the CWB team with over 10 years of sales and management experience. Prior to City Wide he grew through different sales positions to become National Account Manager at Stericycle, formerly Cintas Document Management. Jim is also a Bryant Alumni where his concentration was in Finance. With his background and experience, Jim will lead the growing sales team to achieve our future goals.

Nash joined the CWB team in 2013 as a sales associate and has been promoted internally over the years. His most recent promotion was to Regional Sales Manager where he oversees the Northern Region of our territory. Nash graduated from St. Anslem’s College in Manchester, NH where he majored in Political Science.
